Finland will be the latest member of the North Atlantic Treaty organization. This move comes in after the Russian invasion of Ukraine sparked alarm bells all around Eastern Europe. Finland will be the 31st member of this military alliance as of Tuesday. Sweden is also attempting to join the military alliance however Turkey which is also a key member in the alliance is blocking the move due to accusation of supporting Kurdish movement. Finland which has been largely neutral for most of the modern era shares a 1340 km border with Russia.
