Enterprise wide - Gen AI

I recently had met up with a senior Product manager who was handling partnerships for a SaaS company. I was intrigued by their upcoming products on GenAi and how it would change workflows and the way it would be improving the productivity across the enterprise.

The benefits for GenAi are widely known, however my question to him was what would be the biggest hinderance for enterprises to adopt GenAi on an Enterprise Platform level?

  • Legal ambiguity - currently there is no copyright on any information produced by an AI model. Although your model might be coming up with the result there is nothing stopping someone from using it without giving you the credit.

  • Fear of Failure - There is a common sense of failure among these enterprises where their failure could be much more disastrous than their benefits from success. Breach in IP, Trade secrets, competitive strategies all are up for debate in a space which does to have the adequate safeguards in place for the technology currently.

  • Lack of clear understanding - Since the technology is still in its infancy, there is no clear set of best practices for its adoption.
